About Me
Hi! I am William Clausen. Most people call me Will. I am a student at Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA), studying Computer Science and Math. When I am not studying, I spend my time on a few other things. At school I run on the cross-country and track teams (GO STAGS!). My favorite distance is 800m (that’s a half-mile, or two laps on the track, for those less involved in running). I mentor a 6th grader in Pomona through the Uncommon Good program. My mentee’s name is Juan, he loves soccer and video games (and hopefully math soon, too), and he is AWESOME! Also, I am a cadet in the Army ROTC program at Claremont McKenna College (a neighboring school in Claremont). Service is important to me, and as a cadet in ROTC, I give back to the country that has given so much to me. Additionally, I love ballroom dancing. I have been a member of the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company for the past couple of semesters. My favorite dance is Salsa. I also consider myself to be an amateur mountaineer. I climbed Mt. Rainier (one of the highest mountains in the United States) last summer with my Uncle, and if I go home this summer, intend to climb it again.
In school, I am currently taking courses on Algorithms, Computer Systems, Computability and Logic, Abstract Algebra, Macroeconomics, and a lab about sleep; it’s going to be a great semester! To continue learning outside of the classroom, I do a few other CS-related projects. To get involved in designing and implementing websites and web applications, I made this website. In addition to this site, I have completed a number of programming exercises from Programming Praxis and Project Euler. More details about these projects and my work can be found by following the links in the top menu of this site.
Thanks,
Will
